Nozzles

Over-watering is no longer feasible, acceptable, or cost-effective in the extended California drought or anywhere that growers are working to be more efficient with their resources.

This is why we created our line of high performance sprinkler FCI-HP TM Nozzles by WeatherTec.

We introduced our FC2 Flow Control sprinkler nozzles as an answer to the problem of uneven water pressure – which wastes resources and hurts yields.

We designed the nozzles to:

  • Maintain a nearly constant flow rate from 35 to 100 psi.
  • Produce a water stream that is as turbulence-free as a straight-bore nozzle.
  • Have no loss of radius of throw and no reduction in sprinkler drive.
  • Be more resistant to abrasion than brass. The flow control diaphragms are made of a special blend of oven-cured polyurethane that has incredible flexibility, memory, and durability.
  • Use color-coding for size to make them easy to identify.
  • Save water, energy, and maximize yields.

New & Improved

FCI Stainless Steel
High Uniformity Sprinkler Nozzles

  • Higest possible uniformity from existing impact sprinklers
  • Sprinkler distance of throw will not decrease

Poor irrigation uniformity is usually blamed on bad sprinkler spacing, low pressure, or worn heads… but the most common cause of bad uniformity is actually the sprinkler nozzle. Straight bore nozzles have been considered adequate by most growers for the last 50+ years. To compensate for the less than ideal water distribution of straight bore nozzles and to maximize crop yields, over-irrigation was frequently implemented. Needless to say, times have changed. Applying more water than the crop needs is no longer acceptable. For that reason, WeatherTec is introducing a new line of high performance sprinkler nozzles that will increase the uniformity of the average agricultural sprinkler system by 20% or more. The benefit to the grower will be higher yields while using less water and the energy to pump the water. The new FCI-HP™ nozzles by WeatherTec are the most cost effective way to achieve the highest possible uniformity of any impact sprinkler system.

How the FC2 Flow Control Nozzle Works

Fig. A

Represents the polyurethane diaphragm when subjected to minimal or no pressure. The hole through the diaphragm is at its maximum diameter.

Fig. B

Displays that the conically shaped diaphragm bends outward when subjected to higher pressures and the hole through the diaphragm reduces in diameter. This is how the FC2 flow control nozzle maintains a constant flow over a wide range of pressures.
